Another quiet Sunday -- not exactly
Well,
I was going to link you to my new political youtube video, but for some reason, it's still processing. Maybe uploading 3 in one day pissed them off.
Instead, here's a link to my halloween video -- enjoy!

I'd like to say it was quiet today, but mostly it was work. Physical and some "work for work" work. Oh well, I did get in a nap.
Not much else to say today, just wondering when the next hookingup is going to be posted.

A Question of Futility
In the past 24 hours I've uploaded three different videos to youtube, and sent a fourth to philly.tv for a contest. And all without a new microphone. What am I doing?
It's not like anyone is urgently waiting for me. I have seven subscribers.
I guess it's just a matter of my needing to do it.
For example, I just spent the last hour outside cleaning up the yard. A lot of that time was spent breaking branches up by hand into sticks for the fireplace. First of all, the fireplace doesn't have a chimney, so I can't use it, so why am I doing it? Second, breaking branches into sticks is basically taking something with a fractal dimension of about 2.4 and trying to make it one-dimensional. Futile. Also, when I burn them I'll probably try to arrange them for maximum fire potential, which means a fractal dimension of about 2.4 -- so what am I doing?
Basically, breaking down branches is a task I was given as a child to keep me busy while we were camping. Oh, we used the sticks, but it really wasn't necessary when dad had a can of gasoline in the trunk. And yet, it's therapuetic somehow. I'd say cathartic, but I'm not sure what that means.
It's genius of HBO to grab some of the most popular youtube people (sxephil, buck hollywood, that lonely girl) and put them in a webshow together. It's called hooking up, and so far I like it.
Then there's that mortgage bailout thing. Is that going to work? Does it even help me at all? Won't it just raise my taxes? Are gas prices down this week because AIG survived or because it's October and they always go down in October?
Not to mention the election. We had that vice-presidential debate, but did anyone care? The choice for running mate hasn't mattered since JFK. "In Dallas County, the home LBJ." Even Ford was appointed, not elected.
So, is pretty much everything we do futile? Or what? I'd like to think it isn't, but so far no one has proven me wrong.

What was I thinking?
I recently downloaded the PopCap game Peggle Nights. Why, because you can't play it online, and Peggle was getting old -- not to mention Spider.
So, this game, which is easy enough to beat if you are persistent, is clearly designed for girls. Bright colors, cute animal guides, music and sounds that are too loud, lack creativity and get in the way of the game. The game gets in its own way a lot, including putting words on top of the screen right where you need to look.
Anyway, I'll post a review of that to youtube when I get a chance. It's my current pasttime, but geez I could use a better one!
I'm tired of the same old games, and I'm also tired of being tired. Seems like I'm just run down all the time lately. I suppose that I should be taking my vitamins!
I have to say I miss the Ranting Monkey. And Oakley's not ranting either? C'mon boys -- you going to let Yahtzee get all the glory?
Now I have to wait for Zero Punctuation and Unforgotten Realms -- it's just not enough! I'm starting to watch political videos. NOOOOOOO!!!!!!
Watched the new webshow with Buck Hollywood and sxephil -- so far, so good.

Welcome!
If you're like me - and I know I am - you've been hearing for a couple years about how great blogging is. How the blogosphere (whatever that is) is influencing politics. How somehow you're missing out if you're not blogging.
So, here I am. I'm already on youtube and myspace, so this isn't that big a leap. What will be interesting to see is if the claims of money to be made are real or just so much hype -- like ebay or craigslist. Do you know I lost serious money this week by attempting to SELL a couple things on ebay? Maybe I need the Video Professor guy -- and no, that is not an endorsement, just a side comment. I have no experience with that product, just lots of exposure to some repetitive commercials "My daughter knows more that I do about the computer half the time!" -- Lady, my CAT knows more about computers than you do -- ALL THE TIME.
Anyway, first posts are typically lame, and I appear to be living up to that standard. So this is enough, and I'll be back soon with some actual content.
Ciao.
